Before unification this Mil Mi-8 served with the East German Navy as 773 with MHG 18 'Kurt Barthel'. When integrated into the Bundesmarine, it was 94+01 and flew as part of the Marinehubschraubergruppe Parow until 1994. To mark the final flight this griffin colour scheme representing Vorpommern, the region where it was stationed, was applied.
