In recent years, several of the British Aerospace 146 and RJ-85 aircraft have been converted to airtankers for fire fighting. This one is a Conair design with an external tank. Originally flown by Mesaba Airlines from 1998 to 2006, the jetliner went to Cityjet in 2007 as EI-RJB until returned to the lessor in 2014. Conair did the tanker conversion in 2016 for its US subsidiary Aeroflite. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
