Münster/Osnabrück airport was officially opened on March 27, 1972, following 5 years of construction. The first charter flight took place in 1973. In 1986, the airport gained the status of international airport. It features 1 runway (07/25, with a length of 7.119ft/2.170m) and an apron with 5 jet bridge stands for mid-sized aircraft (B737/A320, up to B757) as well as a number of remote (bus-boarding) stands. Eurowings and Lufthansa have scheduled services to Mallorca, Frankfurt and Munich. Aegean, Corendon, Ryanair, and Sunexpress have seasonal services to various holiday destinations.
