The 'City of Canberra' made the first ever non-stop England-Australia flight, on its delivery flight on 16 August 1989. The flight took 20 h 9 min from London to Sydney under the command of Captain David Massy-Greene. The aircraft previously wore the Boeing 'trade plate' registration of N6046P. Seen here on an early morning arrival on Runway 34. This photo is copyright © Phil Vabre, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
