Ex G-ABHC, acquired by the New Zealand Permanent Air Force after it was damaged on its first flight in New Zealand in April 1931. Slowly rebuilt over 1931-32. Its c/n became its serial. In early 1937 it was sold to Southland Aero Club with the registration ZK-AEV. Impressed in September 1939 it was given the military serial NZ590.
