This aircraft is not only the sole SP-55M in Australia, it's actually the prototype and was formerly registered in Russia as RA-44547. Built in 2000, it was registered in Australia on 14 March 2005. The SP-55M is a development of the Yak-55M with composite flying controls, lighter weight and a 400 hp Vedeneyev M14PF.
