On Feb 21, 1975 this aircraft departed from Columbus-Bolton Field, OH bound for Huntington, WV. Near Portsmouth both engines failed and the pilot ditched in the Ohio River. He exited the aircraft and swam toward shore, but disappeared and was not recovered. The aircraft sank. Two months later, driving across the bridge in the background, I spotted the aircraft on the shore, having just been pulled from the river. The aircraft has since been repaired and is now flying as N4XR. This photo is copyright © Bob Garrard, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
