The huge XB-15 bomber, designed in 1934 but not flown until 1937, after the smaller B-17. Underpowered and slow, the sole XB-15 served as a transport aircraft during WWII, designated XC-105. This photo was taken near New York: top left is Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, on the right is the Gerritsen Beach neighbourhood and the Gerritsen Inlet Bridge below the tail leads to Floyd Bennett Field.
