Ca. 1966: TOS USN as A-6A. Ca. 1972: Upgraded to A-6E. By 1976: Attack Squadron 75 (VA-75), NAS Oceana, VA. 1980: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. Ca.1985: VA-95, NAS Whidbey Island, WA. 1987: VA-165, also at Whidbey. 1990: VA-155, NAS Whidbey. Fall 1990: Deployed aboard USS Ranger to fight in Operation Desert Storm. 18 Jan 1991: Downed over Kuwait by anti-aircraft. The two crew safely ejected but were killed by enemy forces after landing; their bodies were later recovered.
