This Skywagon was delivered factory new to the MAF in 1969. It was stationed in the Indonesian part of Borneo, Kalimantan doing what MAF feels it needs to do. Prior to 2004, it was equipped with a tailwheel and operated from Palangkaraya and Tarakan. Then it was fitted with floats and served villages located inland on the Barito River and its tributaries, an area covering some 880 km. After 49 years and 23,000 flight hours without accidents, the plane was retirement and is now on display. Unless, I am missing something, with this exhibit there is no particular connection to Switzerland.
