Crashed at Bendigo, Victoria, on February 15, 1970 during the opening of the new Bendigo airport. The pilot had been endorsed on the Mustang only two months before the crash and had amassed 25 hours on it. He was performing the second of two fast runs when he was asked to do a third. The pilot climbed steeply to 1500 feet and attempted a steep turn. The Mustang flicked into a roll and spun in killing him. Mike Madden photo.
