In 1941, flying training in the Netherlands East Indies was boosted by the establishment of the Vrijwillig Vlieger Corps (Voluntary Pilot Corps). It received some fifty yellow Australian-built Tiger Moths. This is the Batavia (Jakarta) VVC wing at Kemayoran. One source gives c/n DHA465 for PK-VVG, but there is conflicting information. PK-VVJ, PK-VVH, PK-VVA plus six others are parked behind. This photo was added on 9 June 2021, and has since been viewed 920 times. |
