In 1977 Eastern Airlines leased four A300s for system trials. A break through order for Airbus followed for twenty-three A300 aircraft. Delivered November 30, 1979, this aircraft was taken over by Continental Airlines in August 1987. Re-registered N16982 in 1990, the aircraft would be operated for a short time in 1995 by Akdeniz Airlines as TC-TKC. Bought by Pegasus Aviation in 1995, the aircraft would be stored in Tucson, AZ until bought by Evergreen Aircraft Sales & Leasing in 2002 and broken up in 2003.
