Originally with Air Wisconsin, this 1975 Metro was flying in California with Sun Aire Lines from June 1983. SkyWest bought Sun Aire in 1984 to expand it's reach, merging the two carriers in September 1985. Returned to the lessor in August 1988, N538S would next fly with Grand Aire Express in March 1990 , the aircraft being re-registered N167GA two years later.
