This Hip-C was built in July 1980 and delivered to the Iraqi Army (as an armored version) as '207'. It was sent to Hungary in 1989 to be overhauled but was impounded upon completion due to the imposition of sanctions against Iraq. It was acquired by the Hungarian AF in August 1992 and operated at Szolnok until wfu with t/t 4529 h before December 2010. It was previously stored at Trenčin (LZTN) but has been bought privately and is now being restored in the Czech Republic. The owner told me that he is having difficulty sourcing engine cover panels, so can anyone help? This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
