This F-4D became a civilian aircraft after it was retired from operational service with the 171st Fighter Interceptor Squadron. The F-4D flew once within USAF from Bitburg and Hahn, served the 171st and was sold to AVTEL at Mojave as N403AV. The aircraft was retired from AVTEL to AMARC with inventory code FP0913 on 8 April 1993 and stored up to September 2015 when it was scrapped.
