VH-FNE was written off in a hangar fire at Essendon on March 25, 1971. Wings and engines salvaged and the rest dumped in the graveyard with Viscounts awaiting the scrap merchant. The fuselage later went to the fire dump and survived until 1986. What was left was used as landfill. Mike Madden photo. This photo was added on 1 February 2021, and has since been viewed 449 times. |
