When Arthur Butler arrived at Tooraweenah after his flight from the UK, he taxied to the main street and stopped outside Garling's Commercial Store. He had been courting the Garlings' daughter and proposed to her. She accepted. After World War II, the tiny town of Tooraweenah would became a hub second only to Sydney for Butler Air Transport but is now well and truly off the world airline map. Garling's store was demolished long ago but the shed with the panelled door to the left stood until at least 2008. It too is now gone.
