K-72 (Bu30194) saw action during WW2, and on April 18, 1945, dropped an acoustic torpedo against a German U-Boat. Although a destroyer heard an explosion no debris surfaced so it was not credited with a kill. Seen here at the 1953 Dayton Air Show, with "Join the US Naval Reserve - Be a Naval Aviation Cadet" titles. This photo was added on 6 January 2021, and has since been viewed 73 times. |
