One of the first jet trainers, the S.14 was a big machine compared to e.g. the Fouga Magister. This is the prototype, which was re-engined with a Rolls-Royce Nene, putting the Machtrainer firmly in the advanced trainer class. The 20 production aircraft had the original Derwent engine.
