Built in the 1960s this was one of 18 examples built for the German military. It was tethered allowing the aircraft to rise to about 2 feet (600mm), to turn on a vertical axis and to tip forwards and backwards about 6 degrees. The instructor sat outside the main body making this a cheap way to teach very basic flying. This photo is copyright © Mick Bajcar, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
