Overview of Lae aerodrome. There's a sign on the front of the Control Building (left) reading 'Base Operations', probably a hangover from the war. Aircraft with readable registrations are Guinea Air Traders' DC-3 VH-GAT, which only wore that registration between 10-47 and 7-48, and Dragon VH-AMO belonging to the Catholic Mission of the Holy Ghost at Alexishafen. The latter crashed at Mingende, New Guinea on New Year's Eve 1948.
