Rare early picture of 389th TFS aircraft being prepared for another combat mission over Vietnam. The 389th TFS operated under the 366th TFW at Da Nang AB until June 1969, when the unit moved to the 12th TFW at Phu Cat AB. In 1968, the 366th TFW carried individual tailcodes. The 389th had tailcodes starting with A, like this AH, the 390th TFS started with B and the 480th TFS had tailcodes starting with C. This aircraft crashed while taking off from Da Nang AB on 28 November 1968. This photo was added on 19 October 2020, and has since been viewed 1256 times. |
