This Lockheed 12 was originally delivered in Aug 1941. In 2008 it was painted as seen here, resembling Amelia Earhart's famous Lockheed 10 NR16020 (c/n 1055), in which she attempted to fly around the world but disappeared without a trace on 2 Jul 1937. This aircraft was used in the 2008 movie "Amelia".
Two Lockheed 10s and another Lockheed 12s were at one time also painted to resemble Earhart's NR16020: N1602D (L-10 c/n 1042) in 1987 (50th anniversary), N72GT (L-10 c/n 1015) in 1997 (60th anniversary), and N2072 (L-12 c/n 1208) in 2008. The latter was also used in the 2008 movie.
