90th TFS, 3rd TFW with eight F-4Es were deployed from Clarke AB, Philippines to RAAF Base Pearce October 1978-November 10978. While they were here they carried out dissimilar Air Combat Exercises with A-4Gs from 805 NAS. The aircraft carried a variety of underwing ECM depending on the sortie flown. We were asked not to "zap" the ECM gear, the external tank surface was the popular choice for the "zaps". This F-4E was converted to a "G", QF-4G drone, and expended in missile test 4th June 2002.
