The Dart-powered Convairs were always a relatively rare sight compared to their Allison sisters. This one was originally CV-340 N727A with American Arab Oil in 1952, converted to 440 for General Dynamics (N7362) and then 640 in 5.66. Bought by PWA 5.67; to Wright 11.82 becoming N860FW. Later operated by Viking,Kitty Hawk and Rhoades among others; stored at Fort Worth - Meacham from 2000, fuselage only noted 2013 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
