The waist gunner looks like he is ready to commence firing at something. "Liberty Belle" was destroyed in Illinois in June 2011 by fire, caused by a fuel leak. It made an emergency landing in a field but due to the ground conditions the fire engines could not reach it to put out the flames. It apparently will be rebuilt, using some of its remains and pieces of another B-17.
