This Electra was destroyed whilst conducting fire retardant drops near Cranbrook,British Columbia. The two pilots did not survive the crash which started a wildfire when it exploded upon crashing. The date of the crash was 16 July 2003, less than a month after I photographed it. This photo is copyright © John Olafson, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
