The second prototype of the Ar 79, a small, fast touring aircraft, at Schiphol. Fitted with extra fuel tanks, this aircraft made a non-stop flight of 6,303 km (3,917 miles) from Libya to India in the last days of 1938. Returning from Australia it crashed due to a birdstrike over Madras on 10 February 1939.
