The Avro Ashton first flew on 1st September 1950 and six were built. Based on the Avro Tudor airframe it was for research and was fitted with 4 Rolls Royce Nene engines. Only the fuselage of this important aircraft remains, a great pity This photo is copyright © Mick Bajcar, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
