VH-FYZ came down in the Great Victoria Desert in Western Australia, 10km off the Anne Beadell Highway between Neale Junction and Ilkurka on January 29, 1993.. While largely intact, it was not recovered and the aircraft was still there in 2011. In 1999 a second Cessna 310Q (c/n 310Q-0907) was registered VH-FYZ.
