This aircraft crashed after it was hit by a missile on take-off from Mogadishu on March 23, 2007. The aircraft was at MGQ to pick up usable parts of another IL76 (EW-78826) that was hit by a missile while it was landing at MGQ on March 9th. That aircraft managed to land safely without loss of life. Unfortunately that can not be said about the last crash.
