A rare squadron rotation took place in 2003 when four Moroccan Air Force Mirage F1s arrived at Châteaudun in France. The four aircraft, 127, 159, 166 and 171 did not showed any unit markings, but the aircraft are assigned to Escadron de Chasse Assad or Atlas, both based at 5 Air Base, Sidi Slimane. Two aircraft of the rotation have crashed, 127 in August 2015 after a bird strike near its homebase, while the here showed 159 crashed on 21 January 2019 after technical issues during landing.
