In the markings of the Marina de Guerra Constitucional, which was the official name of the Cuban Navy from 27 Feb 1934 until 27 Jan 1942. The organisation was founded on 2 Jul 1909 as Marina Nacional, became Marina de Guerra Nacional on 29 Mar 1915, then Marina de Guerra on 16 Aug 1926, then Marina de Guerra Constitucional on 27 Feb 1934 and finally back to Marina de Guerra on 27 Jan 1942. On 1 Jan 1959 it was officially disbanded to become part of Fidel Castro's Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias (FAR), the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
