A F-105D Thunderchief T-Stick II version, which can be recognized by the upgraded avionics package placed on the (top) backbone hump from behind the cockpit to the tail. This representative T-Stick II version was only flown from (then) Carswell AFB, Fort Worth (TX) by the Air Force Reserves and this picture was taken on its home flightline. The 301st Tactical Fighter Squadron was home to F105D & F's.

This F-4D arrived from Carswell (TX) at Selfridge (MI) with some mechanical problems in June 1988. As the 457th was nearing a transfer to F-4E, the USAF decided to leave the old F-4D at Selfridge, awaiting what to do. Eventually, the aircraft was used for Aircraft Battle Damage Repair training at Selfridge. Luckely, I pictured the Phantom before it was tortured. In May 1990, the F-4D was donated to the Freedom Memorial Park, Sterling Heights (MI) where it arrived in August 1990.
