Tragically on 19th October 2017 whilst flying near near Bowie, AZ., this aircraft was destroyed and the pilot fatally injured when it departed controlled flight and collided with desert terrain. After a detailed examination of the wreckage the NTSB investigation concluded that the in-flight loss of control was due to a bird strike.
