The Renard R31 was the sole Belgian design to see action during WW2. It was a light reconnaissance aircraft of which 35 were delivered between 1935 and 1939. These equipped two units (9 Smaldeel and 11 Smaldeel). In total 35 were delivered to the Belgian air force. with serials 1 to 35. As the aircraft was slow, not very agile and was lightly armed it suffered heavy losses during the German invasion of Belgium both by enemy and friendly fire. In the military museum this replica of the R31 is under construction.
