Delivered to Eastern Air lines on October 8, 1958, this Electra was sold to Air Manila International in December 1971 and registered RP-C1061. Tragically the aircraft crashed during take-off at Manila on June 24, 1976. Number three propeller was feathered around lift-off and the crew retracted the gear and flaps before the aircraft was completely under control. It struck rising terrain and slid across a highway before catching fire. All on board and one person on the ground lost their lives.
