Photo by Mr. Cattaneo. This aircraft deadly crashed in Milano downtown on 18th April 2002 against the Pirelli skycraper while making a VFR flight Locarno-Linate. It was finally determined that the single private pilot on board the aircraft was distracted by a landing gear problem. He was cleared to hold at the west of Linate airport to try to solve the problem, but a not correct use of the autopilot (no altitude keeping function) and the afternoon sunlight at west contributed to the loss of awareness about the real position/heading. The aircraft impacted at the 26th floor, 340 ft AGL.
