Delivered new to Eastern Airlines as N5506 3rd Nov 1958 and became HP-579 with COPA Panama 17th Oct 1971. Withdrawn from use KMHV (Mojave) July 1986 and seen here 6 years later still awaiting the final scrapping process.

The sad sight of what remained of this aircraft only a few years after it was photographed fit and well at Panama City by Richard Vandervord in 1982. It had arrived Mojave Dec 85.

This was one pleasing result of a stopover in Panama on my first trip to Colombia. A smart-looking machine which started off with Eastern as N5506 in 11.58 and was bought by COPA in 10.71. Seen here in their second Electra livery, she went into storage at Mojave in 7.86 and was later broken up there
