El Salvador has operated the Cessna 337/Cessna O-2 since 1982 and received just over twenty in total, most being ex USAF. The type known locally as the 'Martillo' was used extensively in the reconnaissance role during El Salvador's civil war and is still flown by the Grupo de Caza y Bombardeo as part of the Segunda Brigada Aérea from Comalapa Air Base. 626 (ex 69-7668) seen flying with 610 (ex 68-10837) was written off in March 2012
