In 2004 this plane was seized by the Ecuadorian government from a drug lord, and was to be used as a presidential plane. However, this plan didn't advance and the plane was stored in Latacunga for many years. It wore the registration FAE-050 but never flew for the air force. It is now preserved at the ITSA in Latacunga with its former registration, XB-ILD for training mechanics. Former registrations include XB-ILD, N280CH, N38TS, N209NC, N75TJ, N75QS, N75CS, N1393, N2125B, and G-AXDO.
