Guarding the gate to the part of Sola airfield where the Flyhistorik Museum Sola is housed, is thic CF-104 with serial 717. On 12 March 1963, it was delivered to the Canadian air force, and on 23 August 1974 it was handed over to Norway. It served until 17 January 1983 when it was stored at Sola, with 3149.8 hours.

Though not officially part of the museum collection, the Starfighter acts as a gate guardian for Flyhistorisk Museum Sola. It belongs to Sola videregående skole, a technical college located in the building behind the aircraft and next to the museum,
