The first glider designed and built in Poland after World War II. The prototype made its maiden flight in 1947. In 1948, a short series of five aircraft of this type was produced under the designation IS-1 Sęp bis, featuring minor differences from the prototype. In 1949, Irena Kempówna set two world speed records on the example displayed in the Museum. This photo is copyright © WalAndPl, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
