The aircraft was taking part in the AOPA "Parade of Planes" from Palm Springs International Airport through the city's streets to the downtown Conference Centre where the annual AOPA Convention was being held that year. Location: Intersection of Sunrise Way and East Tahquitz Canyon Way, coordinates: 33.82314 -116.52874. The aircraft was re-registered N695KG on 22nd May 2007 and then to N887SD on 1st September 2016.
