This D.520 was built with c/n 650 by the Dewoitine factory in Toulouse during WWII and was flown by pilots of the French Vichy Government from Pau. Later it was used by the French Interior Forces for observation and espionage missions. From 1945 to 1950 it served as a (then) two-seat trainer for the Armée de l'Air. In 1950 the aircraft was withdrawn from use and ended up as gate guard at BA123 Orléans/Bricy. After time at La Ferté Alais it went on display at the Musée de l 'Air at LBG in 1970 but full restoration did not begin till it was trucked to Rochefort in 1990, completed in 2020 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
