This Rumpler Taube holds a special place in the history of Norwegian aviation. On 1 June 1912, Royal Norwegian Navy officer Hans F. Dons made the first manned flight in Norway in this airplane. On 1 August 2012 it was handed over to the Navy and became the first military aircraft in Norway. Rumpler Taube was a licensed version of the Austrian Etrich Taube aircraft, built from 1910 at the Edmund Rumpler Flugzeugwerke aircraft factory.
