This Huey was delivered to the USAF in March 1966 as a UH-1F initially assigned to the SAC's 43rd BW at Little Rock AFB, AK. In July 1966 it was transferred to the 606th Air Commando Sqdn, Nakhon Phanom RTAFB, Thailand and then February 1967 to Nha Trang AB, South Vietnam assigned to the 20th SOS for use in covert operations. In June 1969 it was converted to a UH-1P gunship with twin Miniguns and two rocket pods.
