The excellent HAL Museum in Bangalore shows the history of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, the Indian aircraft manufacturer. The HPT-32 was a HAL designed trainer aircraft built from 1977 till 1993 and was retired in 2009 over safety concerns. The types replacement is the the PC-7 MkII and HAL HTT-40, which has not entered operational service yet ealry 2025. Many retired HPT-32s have been donated to institutions and they can be found on display all over India.
