Lockheed Martin built F-35A, FMS serial 17-5320, made its first flight in November 2019 and was soon after delivered to the USAF's 944th Operational Group detachment 2, before it was assigned to the 17 Fighter Wing at Cheongju (K-59) in South Korea in late 2020. The wing operates three squadrons Lightning IIs, 151, 152 and 156 Fighter squadron. The 5th gen aircraft are based at the military part of the international airport.
